Sensor Tower utilizes Net Revenue as our metric for measuring app earnings. Our App Store and Google Play revenue is Net; as estimates reflect app's gross revenue minus 30%, which is the base amount Apple and Google take from all app purchases. Our revenue estimates include spending on paid apps, in-app purchases, and in-app subscriptions.
The revenue estimates do not include any spending on real goods and services such as products purchased through Amazon or rides from Uber. Our estimates reflect the decreased 15% cut Apple and Google take from subscription apps after the second year.
Sensor Tower converts all revenue estimates in local currencies that apps get from different countries to USD. Click HERE to know more about it.
Note: With all their payments, the App Store automatically accounts for VAT (USD); our Store Intelligence estimates reflect net revenue (excluding taxes & VAT). On the other hand, the Google Play Store doesn't automatically account for VAT, so we'll only illustrate net revenue minus base platform taxes.
